HIV Global

Kenya marks 25 years since the first case of HIV infection was reported in the country. But anxiety and fear are casting a dark shadow on the celebrations because of the uncertainty surrounding a 25 billion shilling proposal by the government to the global fund. Although the global fund technical review committee has allowed the government to appeal the rejection of the proposal, there is a possibility that the country may miss out on these funds. And as Bernard Ndong reports, if the global fund does not reverse its decision, the lives of 100000 people who depend on the funding could be left in the balance.
