Jon's Proposal Perspective
Feb. 19th, 2011 - After setting the attendance record at Nemzek Fieldhouse at Minnesota State University Moorhead, I proposed to my girlfriend, Jamie. We met and build our friendship in that building as I played intramural basketball and she worked for the intramural department. I even asked her out on our first date just outside the doors of Nemzek Hall in November 2008. I invited her parents (who are sitting to her left in the video) to come to the game knowing I was going to propose to their daughter. After the game was over, I announced that I was giving one lucky fan a prize worth more than an iPad and a car (two prizes we gave away earlier in the night). You see, I run the promotions for Dragon Athletics and wanted to show that no matter how important my work is to me, that Jamie would always be the most important highlight of my day. Next, I announced that I would read an riddle in the form of a poem. I then read a poem Jamie had written on the headboard of her bed at her home since she was a teenager. This video shows what happened next.
