Matthew's Proposal - short version
My name is Matthew and this is my proposal to my girlfriend Melissa. We had talked about marriage (we had dated for 7 years!), and Melissa had given me 4 strict criteria to adhere by in proposing: 1. It had to be a true surprise 2. It had to be a public declaration 3. It had to be original, and 4. It had to be on film She was always joking, but I took it as a challenge, and I pulled it off! I decided the best way to surprise Melissa would be to indirectly have her throw a surprise party for me on my 30th birthday, then turn it around an make my proposal. I had my best friend Chris start planning my birthday and like clockwork, Melissa took over 2. I was having difficulty finding a ring, so I proposed with a candy ring-pop instead. I had a one-off gold coin minted with Melissa's portrait on one side, and her NEW initials on the other.
