PART 7 - COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING - THE JACKSON LAB - OCTOBER 12, 2010

The scandal surrounding the Jackson Lab proposal continues in Collier County, Florida... In Part Seven (the last part) we hear Commissioner Fred Coyle talk about "spin-off corporations" that could result from the Jackson Lab "business cluster".... These amazing fantasies being presented to the citizens of Collier County, in order to justify the millions of taxpayer dollars that would be thrown at the Jackson Lab for its proposed move to Ave Maria, explains the overwhelming public rejection of this project. Many see the Jackson Lab nebulous agenda as nothing but a real estate bail out of former pizza king, Tom Monaghan, and Barron Colliler Companies, who are partners in the development of Ave Maria. The Naples Daily News has been conducting a public poll for several months. 84% of responders have given a resounding NO to ANY taxpayer money going to the Jackson Lab's proposed move to Ave Maria, Florida. But Commissioners Donna Fiala, Frank Halas, Fred Coyle and Jim Coletta remain unmoved by the monumental public rejection of this Jackson Lab proposal, and have refused to allow the public to vote on the matter. Commissioner Tom Henning continues to be the only dissenting voice, in support of accountability to the taxpayers. It is no surprise that the Jackson Lab "deal" is seen by many as an example of corporate welfare and socialist tactics. The irony is that this is taking place in the heart of what is considered to be one of Florida's most "conservative" counties.
